{"id":17946,"date":"2024-10-08T14:19:09","date_gmt":"2024-10-08T19:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coreconstruction.com\/?post_type=news&#038;p=17946"},"modified":"2024-10-08T14:23:29","modified_gmt":"2024-10-08T19:23:29","slug":"core-hosts-inaugural-gyotl-academy-golf-tournament-with-usf-college-of-education","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/coreconstruction.com\/news\/core-hosts-inaugural-gyotl-academy-golf-tournament-with-usf-college-of-education\/","title":{"rendered":"CORE Hosts Inaugural GYOTL Academy Golf Tournament with USF College of Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CORE Construction (CORE) hosted the first <a href=\"https:\/\/giving.usf.edu\/about\/scholarships\/usf-sarasota-manatee-campus-scholarships\/usf-manatee-county-core-construction-gyotl-fund\"><strong>Grow Your Own Teacher Leader Academy<\/strong><\/a> (GYOTL) Golf Tournament on September 30 at the Founders Club in Sarasota, raising funds for a USF Sarasota-Manatee program that prepares Manatee County teachers for leadership roles.<\/p>\n<p>The GYOTL Academy, a 12-credit-hour graduate certificate program, equips teachers with leadership skills and knowledge to positively impact schools and communities. The first cohort, consists of 15 teachers from five local Title I elementary schools. The program allows teachers to earn a certificate that can be applied toward a master\u2019s degree from the University of South Florida.<\/p>\n<p>CORE funded the first two semesters of the program and was joined by 69 golfers and 29 sponsors to support this initiative.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis program is a vital step in enhancing student learning and building leadership within our schools,\u201d<\/em> said Cheryl Ellerbrock, Dean of USF Sarasota-Manatee\u2019s College of Education.
