The Chandler City Council has awarded a $5.8 million construction contract to\u00a0Core Construction, Inc.<\/a>, to rebuild Chandler Fire Station No. 282, located near\u00a0Alma School and Warner roads in Chandler.<\/p>\n

\u201cStation No. 282 is located in an ideal location and consistently handles our highest call volumes in Chandler,\u201d said\u00a0Fire Chief Tom Dwiggins. \u201cThese improvements will enable a second engine company to be relocated to the new station, improving our emergency response\u00a0capabilities in this area of Chandler.\u201d<\/p>\n

The agreement enables a new Fire Station No. 282 to be built in stages at the site. The new station will provide four\u00a0vehicle bays for fire apparatus and a facility to house two four-person engine companies on-site. The second engine company would be relocated from another\u00a0existing fire station due to the high call volume experienced in this area.<\/p>\n
