{"id":10191,"date":"2020-11-12T21:02:36","date_gmt":"2020-11-13T03:02:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coreconstprod.wpengine.com\/news\/asu-celebrates-grand-opening-of-lantana-hall-on-polytechnic-campus\/"},"modified":"2021-12-09T13:29:55","modified_gmt":"2021-12-09T19:29:55","slug":"asu-celebrates-grand-opening-of-lantana-hall-on-polytechnic-campus","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/coreconstruction.com\/news\/asu-celebrates-grand-opening-of-lantana-hall-on-polytechnic-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"ASU celebrates grand opening of Lantana Hall on Polytechnic campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Arizona State University is celebrating the official grand opening of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/housing.asu.edu\/housing-communities\/residential-colleges\/lantana-hall\">Lantana Hall<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 the university\u2019s newest residence hall, which opened in fall 2020 on the Polytechnic campus.<\/p>\n<p>The four-story, state-of-the-art facility, located on the north side of campus near Century Hall, not only provides 374 beds for the Polytechnic campus\u2019\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.asu.edu\/about\/facts-and-figures\">growing student population<\/a>, it also contains about 8,500 square feet of academic space on the first floor, including two classrooms, multiple offices, conference rooms and lounge spaces conducive to a \u201clive-learn\u201d experience.<\/p>\n<p>In line with ASU\u2019s sustainability goals, Lantana Hall is on track to receive the highest certification from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usgbc.org\/leed\">U.S. Green Building Council<\/a>: LEED Platinum. This would be ASU\u2019s first LEED Platinum-certified residence hall. The 113,821-square-foot building was constructed using a wooden frame and a concrete podium hybrid system with a shell including accent metal paneling and fiber cement board. Seventy-five percent of the waste generated during this project was diverted to recycling facilities.
